The ACM Multimedia Asia (MM Asia) Steering Committee invites prospective parties to submit proposals to host and organize the sixth ACM Multimedia Asia conference in 2025.

Dear Colleagues,
 
The ACM SIGMM (Special Interest Group in Multimedia) provides a forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners in all aspects of multimedia computing, communication, storage, and applications. We do this through our sponsorship and organisation of conferences and workshops, supporting student travel to such events, discounted registrations, two regional chapters, recognition of excellence and achievement through an awards scheme and we inform the community of our activities through the SIGMM Records and through mailing lists.
 

The ACM Multimedia Steering Committee invites prospective parties to submit proposals to host and organize the ACM Multimedia conference (ACM MM) in 2028.

 For ACM MM 2028, proposals from all regions are welcome. However, particular priority will be given to locations that are accessible and visa-friendly for the majority of our international research community in order to support a broad and inclusive in-person participation.

The winner of the SIGMM Rising Star for 2022 is Jianlong Fu for his significant contributions in Multimedia Search and Mining.
 

The 2022 winner of the prestigious ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia (SIGMM) award for Outstanding Technical Contributions to Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications is Professor Alan Smeaton. The award is given in recognition of his outstanding, pioneering and continued research contributions in the areas of multimedia information analysis and management, and for outstanding and continued service to the multimedia community.

Recognizes the authors of a paper published either 10, 11 or 12 years previously at an SIGMM sponsored or co-sponsored conference which has had the most impact and influence on the field of Multimedia in terms of research, development, product or ideas. The award includes an honorarium of $1,000 and a certificate.

The ICMR Steering Committee invites interested parties to submit proposals to host and organize the 14th International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval, ICMR2024 (sponsored by the ACM SIGMM).
