The SIGMM Executives invite applications for funding of new initiatives.

The ACM Multimedia Steering Committee invites prospective parties to submit proposals to host and organize the ACM Multimedia conference (ACM MM) in 2028.

 For ACM MM 2028, proposals from all regions are welcome. However, particular priority will be given to locations that are accessible and visa-friendly for the majority of our international research community in order to support a broad and inclusive in-person participation.

This year we have new ACM SIGMM elections. All SIGMM members are invited to cast their vote for the three SIGMM officers (SIGMM Chair, SIGMM Vice Chair, SIGMM Director of Conferences).

Dear Colleagues,

The ACM SIGMM (Special Interest Group in Multimedia) provides a forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners in all aspects of multimedia computing, communication, storage, and applications. We do this through our sponsorship and organisation of conferences and workshops, supporting student travel to such events, discounted registrations, two regional chapters, recognition of excellence and achievement through an awards scheme and we inform the community of our activities through the SIGMM Records and through mailing lists.

The winner of the SIGMM Rising Star for 2023 is Dr. Chang Xu for his significant contributions in efficient and generative deep representation learning of multimedia data.

The 2023 winner of the prestigious ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia (SIGMM) award for Outstanding Technical Contributions to Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications is Professor Wenwu Zhu. The award is given in recognition of for his outstanding, pioneering and continued research contributions in the areas of Multimedia Communications and Analysis and for outstanding and continued service to the multimedia community.
