SIGMM History ArchivesThe History Archives Section of the SIGMM Web Magazine provides a single location for information about all past conferences and workshops organized by the ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia (SIGMM). The History Archives Committee seeks your help to correct any mistake and complete any missing information. SIGMM Educational PortalThe SIGMM Educational Committee was setup in June 2009 to collect and organize SIGMM-related educational resources on the Web and share them with the community at the SIGMM Education Portal. The educational portal has grown steadily and we hope that the collected resources serve as useful references to the community. We would like to solicit feedback from you, the SIGMM community, on how the portal can be made more useful and how it can better support your teaching and learning. Please email us at education@sigmm.org. |

MediaEval 2010MediaEval is a benchmarking initiative that offers tasks promoting research and innovation on multimodal approaches to multimedia access and retrieval. The focus is on speech, language and social features and how they can be combined with visual features in a variety of innovative tasks. Groups participate in MediaEval by signing up, carrying out tasks, and attending the MediaEval workshop. In 2010, MediaEval is running five tasks, described briefly in the Records and in greater detail on the website. Report from Multimedia Systems 2010The inaugural MMSys conference was held in Phoenix, AZ this past February and by all measures was a great success. In this issue of the Records, the program chair presents some of the technical highlights from selected papers and describes some of the future plans that are in the works for the conference. |
