Call for Short Papers PDF version of Call For Papers

Short papers are solicited for the poster sessions of the technical program of the ACM Multimedia 2009 conference. Short papers should present interesting recent results or novel thought-provoking ideas that are not quite ready for a regular full-length paper. We are looking for interesting and bold papers in all areas of multimedia technology and its applications that are covered by the four conference tracks:

  • (a) Content track: Multimedia content analysis, processing, and retrieval
  • (b) Systems track: Multimedia networking, sensor networks, and systems support
  • (c) Applications track: Multimedia tools, end-systems, and applications
  • (d) HC track: Human-Centered Multimedia

Submissions will be peer-reviewed by the same reviewers as the full papers to ensure quality. Accepted short papers will be presented as posters in an interactive setting and appear in the ACM DL along with the accepted full papers.

Track Definitions for the four track can be found here.

Submission Guidelines

A submission must represent new, original research. Papers containing substantially similar material may not be submitted to other venues concurrently with ACM MM09. If duplicate submissions are identified during the review process, authors will not be permitted to submit papers to the ACM MM conference in the following years.

The whole paper should be written in 9 points. Papers must be submitted as PDF files. Papers exceeding the limits will be rejected without review.

All the submissions should be prepared in double-column ACM proceedings style. The corresponding latex and word files can be found from the following links:

ACM MM review is double-blind. Therefore, please anonymize your submission. This means that all submissions must contain no information identifying the author(s) or their organization(s): do not put the author(s) names or affiliation(s) at the start of the paper, anonymize citations to and mentions of your own prior work in the paper, and do not include funding or other acknowledgments in papers submitted for review. During the TPC meeting, paper discussion is single-blind.

All submissions must be in English.
