Welcome to Experience Multimedia of Beijing by AVS

AVS, or "Advanced Audio and Video Coding Standard" (See http://www.avs.org.cn/en/), is the second-generation source coding/decoding standard of China. Specified by an extensive workgroup led by Prof. Wen Gao (General Co-Chair of ACM MM 2009), AVS is a set of integrated standard system which contains system, video, audio and digital rights management, aimed at providing a more comprehensive solution for the digital video and audio industry. In terms of main technical specification coding efficiency: MPEG-4 is 1.4 times of MPEG-2, AVS and H.264 are more than twice of MPEG-2.

The AVS standard can be applied in the field of various information industries such as high-resolution digital broadcast, high-density laser-digital storage media, wireless broad-band multimedia communication, and internet broad-band stream media.
