The ACM Multimedia 2010 Student Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the results of ACM Multimedia 2010 Student Scholarship. The committee have completed the selection, and 28 students from Singapore, China, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece received the SIGMM-sponsored scholarship. This is the largest ACM MM Scholarship program over the past three years (thanks to Gary Chan and Faming Li for providing valuable information for 2008 and 2009). The amount of funding was approximately tripled and the number of awards was over 50% more! Congratulations to the student awardees world-wide! See the winners list!

Dr. Effrosyni Kokiopoulou is the 2010 winner of the ACM Special Interest Group on Multimedia (SIGMM) award for Outstanding PhD Thesis in Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications. Dr. Kokiopoulou receives the award for her thesis: Geometry-Aware Analysis of High-Dimensional Visual Information Sets, that she has done at the Signal Processing Laboratory, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland. The SIGMM award will be presented at ACM Multimedia 2010 International Conference.
